For a successful diet you need to sacrifice certain behavior
How many of us have selected the latest fad diet because it required the least effort from us?
How many times did we fail on these diets, yet never asked ourselves why?
To sit back and think the kilograms are just going to peel off you is stupidity beyond belief. I fell for this many times, and yes, I was stupid.
The many diets will ask you to sacrifice this or that, but there are many foods out there which I never believed are a better alternative, and taste better than the rubbish I was shovelling into my face.
I made a few changes and listed them below. Yours may be different, but do whatever makes the weight loss plan easier.
What sacrifices do we need to make?
Stop Stuffing your Face.
The first and obvious sacrifice is to eat less food.
As an obese person, I am aware of how much food I can consume, and eating less is difficult. My daily food intake could easily be the equivalent of someone else’s over two or more days.
If they can eat so little, why not me? It will be difficult initially, but you must do so.
Sacrifice the Junk Food.
Next, get rid of all the junk food in your cupboards.
I went a step further and got rid of all the food in my cupboards.
If there isn’t anything to eat, you won’t eat.
You will crave something, but you won’t have anything to fill that craving.
This is a wonderful thing.
I buy food when I need it, and then never for over two meals.
Sacrifice the Soda.
Get rid of the soda.
They taste great, but water is your friend and motivator through weight loss.
Many times when I think I feel hungry, I have a glass of water and feel great afterwards and the hunger disappears. It is amazing how often you mistake hunger for thirst.
Sacrifice your Loser Mindset.
This is the most important sacrifice you will make. It will also provide the greatest benefit in your weight loss plan.
Once you notice the weight coming off, your new mindset will push you daily to continue with what you did yesterday, because it is working.
A losing mindset will take a 100g loss of weight as a failure and convert that into a reason to go on a food binge.
You know bingeing is wrong. Stop the binge. You blame yourself before you binge, during the binge and after. You hide the bingeing you do from everyone.
It is also the hardest sacrifice you will ever call on yourself to make.
It will also take away any need for emotional or stress eating, which I have been guilty of.
I have also read about people suggesting you envision who you are as a thin person, and this makes weight loss easier.
I don’t believe you can think yourself thin, but I’m open to all suggestions.
And then…
Once you have worked these ideas into your daily routine, you’ll see how easy it is to lose weight.
Discipline and patience.
These are the key to a permanent weight loss.
